Implicit Bias and Cultivating Cross-Cultural Competence in Legal Practice
This PowerPoint presentation by Sameera Hafiz, Policy Director, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and Lillian M. Moy, former Executive Director, Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, was published in 2009. This training defines cultural competence, demonstrates the Stroop test (an implicit association test), introduces the concept of implicit bias, exposes learners to the 10 Commandments of Cultural Competency, and applies a cultural lens to legal practice.
